07 APRIL 2011

4 COUNTRIES IN 1 DAY  PHILIPPINES, QATAR, ROMANIA AND HUNGARY

This year, Tats' birthday was celebrated in 4 countries, all on one day, APRIL 7, 2011.  How did this happen you might ask. :)

A. Manila, PHILIPPINES

We all had lunch together (minus NHL and AKU) at the Japanese Restaurant in Edsa Shang.  We were lucky to get the private room.  We decorated the place with banners and party hats.  Food was great!  Here are some photos of our very yummy lunch.  At 4:00pm, we took the flight to DOHA via Qatar Airways to embark on our European Adventures 2011!

B. Doha, QATAR

C. Bucharest, ROMANIA

D. Budhapest, HUNGARY

CASA MICA

Our European adventure 2011 was definitely a memorable one.  There were so many highlights.  One of them was our stay at CASA MICA Bed and Breakfast in Civitavecchia.  We stayed at this beautiful house for 2 nights, April 16-17, the weekend before our Mediterrenean Cruise.  Civitavecchia is a Port of Call and is around 45 minutes away from Rome.

We had such a pleasant stay at Casa Mica thanks to the owners, Germano and Patricia.  They have one daughter who is younger than Audrey.  Her name is Valentina.  We felt very much at home because we were able to book all 4 rooms in their Bed and Breakfast.  Having the place to ourselves, for the price of EUR 500 was definitely not bad.  Staying at a nearby hotel would have probably cost us double.

The view from their balcony was breathtaking.  The serene and blue Mediterenean Sea.  What made it even more picturesque were the trains that were passing by every hour.

Civitavecchia is a quiet and peaceful town. On Saturday night, together with Tita Tina and Tito Edgar we had dinner at a pizza and pasta place by the sea.  On Sunday, we heard mass at a nearby church.  Mass was in Italian and it also happened to be Palm Sunday.  We also bought lunch from some stalls near the church, they were the only ones open  when everything else was closed.  Lunch was composed of sandwiches and hotdogs which we ate back at Casa Mica.

On Sunday afternoon also, the day before our cruise, us kids went to Rome for a tour of the city while the parents stayed at Casa Mica.  It was very relaxing for them.  It was tiring for us kids because we did a lot of walking and even running to catch the train! Went we got back in time for dinner, we bought pizza from the pizzeria, just a few steps from the bed and breakfast. The back gate of there house made it more accessible for us to reach the Pizzeria.  It was so good!  Pizza, freshly made and AUTHENTIC! :)

On Monday morning, when it was time to say goodbye to our home for 2 days, we took some pictures and exchanged pleasantries with Germano and Patricia.  They were very nice and Germano even offered to take us to the port, in two trips!

All of us had such a nice time at CASA MICA and I'm sure we would all love to stay there again.  Highly recommended and unforgettable.

SAWASDEE

A pat on the shoulder.  I think I deserve one for coming up with my second post :)

Today, I would like to talk about our most recent trip to Bangkok.  Last 08 Oct - 12 Oct 2011, I had a nice time with the Original Javiers and Tita Tina in the land of the spicy food - Bangkok, Thailand.  We celebrated our parents' 41st wedding anniversary.  We were invited and treated......  Free tickets, accommodations and even shopping money.  Who wouldn't say no? :)  After all, it was just 5 days and 4 nights.  I was sure that AKU and little O wouldn't mind.

Before I forget about what we did in Bangkok, let me write a daily summary in this post of the things we did.

Day 1 08 OCT

Took PAL flight at around 10am to BKK.  Arrived BKK after lunch.  Checked-in Intercon Bankgok.  We were lucky to get 2 connecting rooms :)  Had dinner at FUJI at the nearby Central World Mall.  Walked to C to check out the fruits.  Ats and I went to Pat Pong in the evening.  Betty was too tired so she opted to stay in the hotel.

Day 2 09 OCT

Heard mass at the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish which was just 10 minutes away from our hotel.  Had lunch at a Thai restaurant.  Visited a Gem Factory.  Went to JATUJAK market.  Dinner at the Food Court of Central World Mall. Had authentic Thai foot reflexology in Central World Mall.

Day 3 10 Oct

Went to Naraya in Central World Mall.  Had a very good Thai lunch in the mall.  Went shopping at Platinum Mall and the mall across it.  Dinner was at the Italian Restaurant in the hotel. Went to C in the evening.

Day 4 11 Oct

Jim Thomson tour.  Had lunch there as well.  Went shopping at MBK, Platinum and the mall accross it again.  Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental Thai Restaurant.  Traffic going there was heavy!

Day 5 12 Oct

Left the hotel at around 11AM.  Took PAL flight back to MNL.  Was home around 9pm :)

WELCOME TO PATTYUY

It's 10pm, October 17,2011.  I have finally decided to open a blog site.  I am simply calling it pattyuy.  I do not know if anyone would be interested to read my stories.  I do not even know if I will find time to write here.  But I will give it a try and maybe it will work.

The real reason I want to start this is for keeping a record of all my travel adventures.  It has been more than 10 years that I have been making photo albums of all important travels, etc... in my life and I have realized that I have accumulated so many albums.  The pictures are slowly fading and I thought it would be best to be in the modern age by posting them on my own site. In this way I can save on printing costs and I can access my so called "album" anywhere, as long as there is an internet connection. Let's hope it will be a success!  Because as you see, I am very low tech!

SUCCESS!  I was able to upload a photo :)

This was taken last 11 October 2011, Tats' and Mom's 41st Wedding Anniversary in Bangkok.  We had dinner at the very beautiful Mandarin Oriental Hotel.  We ate in their Thai Restaurant.  In order to get to the restaurant, we had to take a 5 minute boat ride from one side of the river.  It was a very enjoyable evening.  Tita Tina joined us in Bangkok for 4 nights.  Lots of shopping and walking! :)

Ok, so I think that's a good start.  I think I might have potential.  AKU, what do you think? ;)
